Maddie turns 3!

We celebrated Maddie's 3rd birthday this weekend. The above pic is her eating her cake. As you can see, she is our girlie girl. She loves anything pink, frilly and princess-ey (i know thats not a word). Maddie is also our very strong-willed child and although challenging, we love that about her and hope to train her to use that God-given strong will for good.

Our family is in super busy mode right now. Ryan is off to China again at the end of the week and we are off to Muskoka to stay with my parents while he's gone. Ryan's going there to check out factories to manufacture the DTV, this is his second trip out there and he's becoming more and more of a seasoned world traveler. It's def. preparing him for future missions :)

Alright, off to do some more laundry while the kids sleep. Ill try to get some more posts up, my camera broke so im kind of waiting to get it fixed so i can update with lots of pics.

For His Glory!

And We're Back!

After almost a year and one more baby girl later, Ive decided to update this blog again. Mainly because I've deleted my Facebook account and wanted to keep everyone updated with growing kids etc... but also because we are embarking on a missionary journey and thought this could keep everyone up to date with where we are on the journey.

On that note, we have been officially accepted with African Inland Mission. Were applying to do their 2-3 year training program called TIMO (training in outreach ministry). It's basically half mission trip outreach half Bible school. We will go with a team to an unreached peoples group in Africa and live with them, learning their culture and language, ministering to the people, building relationaships and teaching them the story of Jesus through the Bible in their language. While were doing this , we'll be mentored and trained by full time missionaries who already live there and complete 4 or 5 Bible courses on the field. I will also be homeschooling the kids and being mom, wife and homemaker (or hut keeper). And for those who keep asking, my workload will be less since I have motherly responsibilities. Right now were just finishing all the psychological tests. Please be praying for us as we push through all the paper work and tests that are required.Since we're in the beginning application stages we dont know where in Africa we will be serving or when we leave yet, but were trying to aim by 2013 sometime.

That's all I have time for today but the next update will be more family stuff. The pic above is Darius and Maddie playing outside this past week. and here is one of Felicity this month too :)
